My name is Alexander Ly and I am a PhD student at the Department of Psychological Methods at the University of Amsterdam with Eric-Jan Wagenmakers. My research focuses on Bayesian hypothesis tests, which are implemented in the free and open-source software package known as JASP. I also organise the Bayesian Modeling for Cognitive Science workshop and the JASP workshop
After an interdisciplinary bachelor (Beta Gamma), I did a master’s degree in Mathematics at the UvA with a curriculum consisting of courses from applied analysis, dynamical systems and probability and statistics. I hope to use the knowledge I gained to comprehend human behaviour, in particular, learning processes and music perception. Although I do not actively DJ that often anymore, I still enjoy abstracting patterns from various types of music. Click here to see my CV.
